Entrepreneurship and Innovation are necessary for economic growth. Arkansas has been steadily increasing in startup activity over the last several years, with the SBA reporting over 2,100 new startups that emerged in Arkansas during the last quarter of 2018. Despite this growth, Arkansas is chronically behind in capital investment and is held back by antiquated economic policies that have become barriers for entrepreneurs to overcome.
The Conductor and Startup Junkie teams have joined the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's Start Us Up initiative to advocate for policies that encourage and empower entrepreneurs and reduce barriers to starting a business in Arkansas. On Friday, October 2 from 11A - 1P we will be hosting a roundtable discussion with local government, community, and business leaders to discuss the challenges Arkansas entrepreneurs face and identify specific ways we can work together to increase entrepreneurial activity in our community.
This conversation is sponsored by Start Us Up, and is intended for Entrepreneurs. Mayors, City Council, Chamber Executives, Main Street Directors, Economic Developers, University Leaders and other local decision makers. Please join us as we strengthen the Arkansas ecosystem by working together to reduce barriers for entrepreneurs.
